Since I got scolded for not posting in a while, one to tide me over for a while:
I recently rebooted an old character design I used to practice with to play around with Mother-style sprites…
… and it was fun to look back and see how all-over-the-place I was with just the one idea back in high school (maybe even as early as junior high; I forget):
Sigh, good times.
Wreck-It Ralph (<3) put me in the mood to play with pixels. So I maded a house.

On a long car ride last weekend, bobku7 described the blind vampire children from a book he’s reading for me to draw. As I was sketching one up at work today with a few minutes between projects, my officemate glanced over and stated simply, “You have issues.”
Fire Flower
- 2 oz. jalapeño vodka (home-infused to your desired level of spiciness)
- 1 oz. elderflower liqueur
- 4 oz. pineapple juice
- grenadine
Pour a small layer of grenadine (less than in that photo) into an old-fashioned glass and top with ice. Mix the vodka, liqueur, and pineapple juice in a cocktail shaker with ice and slowly pour over the ice in the glass to get the fiery gradation.
Verdict: I liked it a lot. Between the jalapeño vodka and elderflower/grenadine there’s a lot of leeway to adjust the balance of spicy and sweet to personal preference.

Good night on eclipse day! My dad and I met for dinner and we both came out of our cars at the same time with rudimentary pinhole viewing devices. Great minds think alike! (though we had about as much luck as I look like I’m having in this photo from kindergarten. Was worth a try. :p)

I’m quite glad I made the last-minute call to catch the show by myself after original plans with the Glass Heart fell through. And after perusing the rest of the scheduled season, I’m excited for the next one! :D
